Artist Sonia Alins is an illustrator and artist focused on creating works of art where drawing goes beyond the two dimensions, with collages made of transparent layers and other materials, which find inspiration in art. by Yves Klein and the three-dimensional pieces by Joseph Cornell. With an artistic personality halfway between Surrealism and Romanticism, the protagonists of Sonia’s works of art are almost exclusively women and connect us with the female iconography of the Romantic era, such as the odalisques of Ingres or the Ophelia by John Everett Millais, the art deco movement (Tamara de Lempicka) or the symbolism of Gustav Klimt.

Her Water Women series is a series of subtle and delicate collages that contain highly expressive figures that emerge from an indefinite aquatic environment. Sonia Alins explores, in a special and suggestive way, concepts such as surrealism, visual poetry and feminism.
Alins plays with the idea of ​​transparency and blur, establishing different levels of perception and adding depth to the pieces, thanks to a planned and minimalist combination of materials. With this creative process, Sonia Alins generates ethereal atmospheres in a minimalist way.

On the other hand, the artist Sonia Alins receives commissions from companies for the realization of works that will later be published in magazines, advertising campaigns and other media. Sonia’s works and illustrations have been published in Spain, Italy, the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, Germany and Scotland.
