Description of the work

ARTWORK
1,184 x 1,184 cm (based on the latitude of Berlin). Solar geometric construction: water, octagon, sacred circle. Acrylic and gold leaf on wood.
Created in the context of the Cal Gras (Bages) art and research residency, this work emerges from a study of the territory articulated through the network of chapels and churches, understood as nodes of symbolic and energetic resonance. The project moves from a geographic reading toward a cosmological formulation, taking as reference the few circular Romanesque churches present in the area.
Within this framework, the pictorial material incorporates botanical extracts selected for their symbolic and vibrational significance. In areas of higher chromatic density (dark blue), oak beard tincture is integrated, associated with the element of air and linked to processes of elevation and expansion.
The central circle, in light blue —drawn following the proportions of the ether circle— has been enriched with hawthorn tincture, a plant traditionally associated with the heart and processes of emotional openness.
The yellow circles, which trace the solar path within the symbolic space, have been made with St. John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum), recognized as a solar plant par excellence in various herbal traditions.
The white circles combine acrylic and lotus flower tincture, introducing a dimension of transformation and transition toward the sacred.
As a whole, the work functions as a plastic mediation device, where geometry and vegetal matter act as active agents in the articulation of internal processes. The painting transcends its representational dimension and unfolds as a field of interaction that suggests dynamics of expansion, balance, and reconfiguration between the material and the subtle.

Artist biography
Jordi Bresolí
The artist Jordi Bresolí was born in Lleida on December 13, 1980.
He studied artistic baccalaureate at the Màrius Torres high school. He then moved to Tàrrega to study the intermediate and advanced degree modules in artistic forging and sculpture at the Ondara school. When finishing the school it decides still to be totally with the painting.
In its first stage it focuses on a more realistic type of language, using oil painting working from glazes. As it evolves it leaves behind all the more figurative aspect and focuses on the study of new materials in a more abstract expressionist field. This whole stage of new experiments and research will finally lead him to work with a series of more natural materials. It uses pigments based on earth, clays, oxides, etc … and developing a purely geometric language.
“In a work, not only the intention and the visual aspect is important, but also the base in which the work is painted, like the materials that are used in her. Against purer the base, against purer are the materials and the way the work is displayed, the higher, more accessible and healing the vibration will be towards the spectator “
