Pepe Puntas

Pepe Puntas began his artistic education at the School of Arts and Crafts in Córdoba before continuing his studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts ‘Santa Isabel de Hungría’ in Seville, where he specialised in woodcarving.
His artistic practice is particularly defined by his use of the sgraffito technique. Through this distinctive approach, Puntas creates scenes that combine irony, humour and a sharp critical perspective. His seemingly rough and deliberately naïve strokes portray everyday situations and reflect the social reality of our time, often marked by uncertainty and crisis.
Throughout his extensive artistic career, Pepe Puntas has received numerous awards and distinctions in recognition of his work. His pieces are held in important public collections, including the IVAM (Valencian Institute of Modern Art) and the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has also participated in a wide range of relevant artistic projects and exhibitions, consolidating his position within the contemporary Spanish art scene.
