Oriol Arumí is a painter who focuses his work on the public space creating murals of great visual and emotional impact. His work explores human relationships and the small moments that connect us, often through the eyes of children and the elderly.

He began his career as an illustrator and trained in Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona, specializing in oil painting. For almost two decades he developed a solid technical base working in easel painting – landscapes, figurative scenes and portraits – consolidating his own narrative look.

For more than fifteen years, based in Lleida, he has focused his practice on muralism, with more than a hundred works in public and private spaces. He works mainly with plastic paint of great durability, with special attention to the relationship between the image, the architecture and the context.

Its style is figurative, precise and accessible. Through realism, humour or fantasy, his murals transform everyday walls into scenes that invite him to stop, observe and feel.

His work gives voice to often invisible groups – such as childhood, the elderly or animals – and promotes values such as coexistence, and respect for the environment. It understands public art as a tool to generate identity, awareness, memory and link with space.
