Mònica Castanys Font, Barcelona 1973. He lives and has the studio near his hometown, in Sant Just Desvern. Graduated in 1993 in Pictorial Procedures at the School of Design and Art, Llotja de Barcelona. Since 1998 he has exhibited work in different galleries in Spain and Europe and participated in various international fairs. Since 2004 he has dedicated himself exclusively and professionally to pictorial creation.

“I am passionate about the female figure and its context. I am obsessed with looking at and extracting the right essence from moments, looking for the beauty of those simple moments. I am inspired by everyday scenes. I have always thought that the process is important because in one way or another it is part of the final result. Contrasts and light are the basis of my painting. I work with oil on wood because this base allows me to explore different techniques throughout the creative process ... it is during this journey that I feel most comfortable. "
