Alex Voinea’s practice may be understood as an exploration of opposites: a constant dialogue between control and exactitude on the one hand, and chance on the other. This tension gradually unfolds into a liberated, emotionally charged expression, manifested on the canvas through vibrant compositions of colour and form.

In his abstract paintings, softened and receding backgrounds generate depth and spatial perception, combined with an almost hyperreal clarity. Through this approach, Voinea conveys a strong sense of movement and fluidity: chromatic eruptions emerge as spontaneous outcomes, where balance and restraint dissolve into a genuine experience of freedom—both enacted by the artist and perceived by the viewer.
